March Books

My quest to read more is still going on. This month I only got through two, but rather thick books.

Amazon

Yes, another vampire love story book. But this isn't your typical vampire book. The girl is a witch descending from the Salem witches. Oh and there are daemons, too. And vampires, witches and daemons don't like each other very much…

The author is a history professor which makes a very good background to write about a 2000 year old vampire falling in love with a archeologist ;-). I really enjoyed this book, even though it is probably meant as Girl's book.

The only disappointing thing was the rather abrupt ending which leaves the main conflict unresolved. I'm really hoping for a sequel here.

Amazon

This one was recommended by foosel. It's a classical fantasy book with lot's of warriors, mages, dragons, mystical creatures and gods meddling with mortal affairs.

Because you're thrown right into a complete new world with a lot of characters, I found it hard to get into at the beginning. But once you're familiar with the characters and the world's concepts, it's a gripping story.

There are a few more books in the series and I will probably come back to the Malazan world later.

BTW: if you've read a good book recently, please let me know in the comments. I'd like to get recommendations on what to read next.
